• Raised the level of funding from Rs.20.0 crores (July 2000) to Rs. 80.0 crores (December 2003)
• Golden Jubilee Exhibition during January 2002 at the Science City, Kolkata (~ 15000 participants)
• Successfully published the R&D right here News Magazine of SRIC
• Started IPR Cell in the Institute
• Published the first IPR policy booklet
• Published R&D profile of the Institute
• Started institutional project relevant to the institute problems from the SRIC fund
• Instrumental in building SRIC Hostel (Vikram Sarabhai Residential Complex) for project scientists
• Prepared a document on computerization/networking of the SRIC activities
• SRIC Undergraduate Research Assistantship, High value Ph.D. fellowship and Kalpana Chawla Memorial fellowship were introduced
• Research cell activities were broadened, strengthened and integrated
• Organized 5th International Conference at Hyatt Regency Kolkata ( More than 600 percipent and more than 100 technical papers were presented in the conference)

• Started industry-institute interaction in terms of doing collaborative projects with the industry and  also bringing grant from the industry for collaborative projects
• Introduced international short term courses involving people from the foreign country
